Trupti Godbole the first thing that came to my mind looking at this pic is the tsunami that hit japan and took so many lives. the red wave, the whirlpool.. but the tears and the frown on the face in the pic symbolises that motehr earth is not happy with whatever is happening either.. Sujata Tibrewala Trupti, this image reminds you of tsunami.. what do you see in the image that makes you say that...? The tears, frown, read wave and whirlpool remind you of a sad/angry mother earth... What more can we find? March 14, 2011 at 9:18pm · Like

Sujata Tibrewala ‎@Trupti, the whirlpool sucking things in remided you of Tsunami. Is there anything else, may be at the sides of the painting which reminds you of flood etc.. March 15, 2011 at 10:57pm · Like

Sujata Tibrewala Hey When I ask you what do you see in the image that made you say that, it does not mean you had a right or wrong answer. I am just trying to take a second look at why you reacted the way you did, and hence look more closely at the painting and your instantaneous reaction. Hopefully that will give you an insight of how you think... March 15, 2011 at 11:00pm · Like · 1

Sujata Tibrewala ‎@Trupti. You cannot see what people are doing on the right. You are not sure if there are any people at all. I know the digital version of the painting is never very good. But you are right we do not see any people at the right hand side.May be you saw something in the way water on the left is transitioned into what you see at the right. Sujata Tibrewala can we imagine what would happen if we were there on the right bottom corner, had we stayed there a few seconds longer? Will the landscape stay the same or will it change a few seconds into the time, this was painted.. March 16, 2011 at 4:56pm · Like

What Sujata had in mind when she painted

This painting was done as a fund raisor for Bihar Flood Relief. Here the water monster is shown gobbling up whole villages in one go..
